God loves us because we share His nature

Summary: The whole universe makes sense only as it is a reflection of the cross of Christ. Why should God care for any of us more than we are concerned for ants? He does it out of pure love. He is happy to give us existence. He loves us because we share His nature — because we are like Him. He has a stake in us. He has a stake in our life and well being. He wants us to be happy, whole and holy. He loves us because He sees himself in us. He loves us not because of what we do, but for what we are – sharers of his very existence.
