When every wrong will be made right

The Holy Name of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
Sun., Dec. 29, 2013
Deacon Robert Banet

Guy my cousin Charlie works with got fired.

So?

Well, people do get fired but this time it wasn’t the guy’s fault.

Tell me more.

Turns out that somebody made off with a big piece of machinery and this guy got blamed for it.

Did he do it?

No!  That’s just it.  He did not do it but yet he got blamed.

That’s not fair.

Yeah, but as somebody says, Who says that life is supposed to be fair?

I’ve heard that before.  I agree somewhat.  But I was just reading something Pope Benedict said.  Something I had never thought of before.

And what was that?

He talked about the Last Judgment, the time when everybody who ever lived will be gathered together and justice will be meted out.   Every wrong will be made right. Every injustice will be dealt with.

I never heard that before.

The Pope said God is just and at that time His justice will prevail.

The last judgment.  That’s a long time to wait.

Yes.  But it is satisfying to think about.  Things that not fair will be made fair.  Justice will be done.

Thanks for the lesson.
