I just thought of an old joke. Or sort of an explanation of April Fool’s Day.
Oh? Tell me about it.
It seems that Satan thought he had conquered Jesus the Holy One.
How so?
Because on Good Friday, Jesus had died. This was the devil’s work, working through human agents.
You mean the Jewish leaders and Pilate?
Yes. Well, the devil was celebrating his victory all day Holy Saturday and then guess what happened?
You don’t have to tell me. Easter, the resurrection of the dead man.
You got it! Then the angels in heaven shouted “APRIL FOOL.”
Ah yes. Easter usually falls in April. The devil had been fooled. Well here on earth we can join the angels in heaven.
Glory to God! Aren’t you glad you’re a believer?
