Gospel: Mark 9:38-40 Whoever is not against us is for us.
Fr. Anthony Brankin

Summary: Society today is opposed to religion. It was not always like this. In the 1930’s and 40’s, society in America looked kindly upon the Catholic Church. Not any longer. The reason is that our culture has become so much worse. They know that we are the ones that oppose contraception, abortion, and same sex unions. Recently President Obama reduced the conscience clause for health care workers from the health care law [concerning in vitro fertilization, contraception that causes abortion, and immoral sexual practices].

TV’s Dark Allure Sways Us from the True Faith

Gospel: Luke 12:13-21 Lay up treasure in heaven

MP3 Audio 13 min.

Summary: Many pursuits in our lives are only vanity. The TV has become the extra person in our family. It uses drama that becomes grafted onto our emotional connection. There is a whole genre of blood and guts spilled by angels and demons. Vampires are made to seem like lovers. It is an intentional desire on the part of producers to change what we believe about the supernatural. There is never a word about Jesus. I’m not yet saying to turn off the TV, but protect yourselves accordingly.
