Summary: Hosanna does not mean “yeah Jesus,” but “save us.” Jesus turns down the people’s offers of the tin crown of being their general, their potentate. He possessed a true kingship, way more important than an earthly kingship. Jesus will take the poor, the sick and despised whom no one accepts. They will form his court. Only this kind of ruler is worthy of the name king.
