Summary: The way we bury our dead shows how we believe in the Resurrection. Cremation is now allowed by the Church, for serious reasons, but it is still not recommended. In the nineteenth century, atheists and masons promoted cremation to ridicule the Church’s belief in the resurrection. A pile of ashes can’t remind us of the Resurrection and eternal life. We must do everything to strengthen our beliefs, especially about the end of our lives.
