Gospel: John 6:30-35 “What sign do you do, that we may see?”
Homily summary: In the Gospel, Jesus chastises the disciples for their questions about signs.
It is easy for us to get stuck in signs, in miracles. We church members get stuck in talking about who is doing what. On the contrary, our faith should bear fruit. Remember Who it is who is healing the sick, burying the dead.
The twin apostolates of prayer and the education of young women are pursued by the Visitation Sisters of Georgetown. Are you searching for God’s calling? Consider a life with the Washington, DC.
Jesus tells us that our first act is an act of faith. This is so much more difficult than a physical act. “This is the word of God, that you may believe in Him who was sent.” In Holy Mass, Jesus joins with us. The real lesson is to place our faith in the One whom He sent.
