Advent means looking beyond paganism to Jesus, the light at the end of the tunnel

Fr. Anthony Brankin
Gospel: Mark 13:33-37 “Watch, for you do not know when the time will come.”

Homily summary: Our ancestors forgot the true God and invented their own. They became so confused, they sacrificed their children, animals and crops. They didn’t pray to God to bless them, but that he would not harm them.

Today, that paganism can be seen in vampires, Ouiji boards, and a fascination with dark things. But during Advent we look hopefully for Jesus, who is the light at the end of the tunnel.
