33rd Week in Ordinary Time, 2012
Deacon Robert Banet
(A discussion about Catholics and Evangelicals)
My cousin left the Church.
Ah, that’s sad. Did he say why?
He said he wasn’t being fed and he enjoyed the company of his new friends.
What’s so special about them?
Well, he says they’re more lively, more spiritual.
Hmm. How so?
He says they talk about the Lord and what He has being doing in their lives. He says all his Catholic friends talk about is priests or the Bears or complain about this and that.
He may be right about that. I wish there was something we could do.
I do too. Catholics ought to feel free to talk about what God is doing in their lives.
There’s so much richness in our background. The prayers of the Mass, the Saints, our teachings.
You’re right. Maybe we just take it for granted.
I’m going to start reading a little of the Catechism from day to day. Learn more about the Faith.
Say, come to think of it; this is the Year of Faith, isn’t it?
That’s what the Pope is calling it. It started in October.
I’d better do something about it myself. Thanks for reminding me.
Ciao!
