The Immaculate Conception, and the day the bells rang in Rome

Fr. Anthony Brankin

December 8 has nothing to do with the conception of Christ. It’s about the conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1854, Pope Pius IX declared the doctrine that Mary was conceived without Original Sin. When that was done, all the bells in Rome rang.

In today’s world, there is so much confusion about the natural law and what is right and wrong that we need the Church to set us straight…. Doing God’s will is what saved Mary, and what will save us.
