Deacon Robert Banet
Hey, Charlie, you look kind of pleased with yourself. What’s up?
Oh, I’ve been thinking about the Church and the people that make up the Church. All kinds. Democracy and aristocracy together. It’s really cool. Equality and specialness.
Go on. You’ve got me interested.
Well, Everybody has a chance at eternal glory, right?
Yes. No disagreement. But I would add that some get a greater grace than others.
Yes. I can vouch for that. I’m one of the more blessed. And I thank God for that every day.
Yes. and some are mightily blessed.
Like?
Like the carpenter’s wife. All day long, for many years. Sweeping the floor. Making supper, going to the well to get water. And where did she end up?
Ah, I get it. She ended up the queen of the universe.
Right. The blessed Mother was an ordinary peasant woman doing ordinary things. And God raised her up to the highest heavens, above the angels.
God is good.
No argument there.
