Grandpa, I still don’t see what you mean by the three comings of Christ.
Well, son, let’s call it history, mystery and majesty.
That sounds pretty mysterious!
In history, Jesus came to us. That’s a historical fact.
Oh, you mean Jesus came to us in Bethlehem.
Right. That’s the history part. Now for the mystery.
I’m listening.
Jesus comes to us in Holy Communion.
Ah, I see. That’s the mystery part.
Yes. That Jesus is in the light white host is indeed a mystery.
That leaves majesty. What does majesty mean?
Majesty is the way Jesus will in the future.
In the future?
Yes, you remember we say in the creed, He will come again in glory.
I see. That’s the third time that Jesus comes. We will be taken up with Him.
