Sixth Week in Ordinary Time
Deacon Robert Banet
Have you found your nose in that physics book again, Roscoe?
Yes and I find this description of light amazing.
Amazing? What could be amazing of such an ordinary thing as light?
Well, physicists say that light seems to have two aspects.
Namely?
It seems to made is of little bundles….
And, get this, waves.
Bundles of light and waves. Hmmm, that’s interesting.
Jesus said, I am the light of the world.
That’s right. Do you suppose He meant that literally?
Yes, and figuratively too.
Jesus is if two natures, just like light. He is true God and true man.
Ah, so whenever I see light I should think of Jesus.
Yes. But also think of Jesus as the true light in a darkened world.
It’s dark, all right.
We should thank God for this continual reminder of His presence.
Jesus, light of the world, true God and true man, have mercy on us!
