Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Deacon Robert Banet
There was no model to copy from.
What do you mean?
I’m talking about the creation of the world.
So?
Can you imagine the Father saying to the Son, Let’s make a sky.
And?
The Son says, What’s a sky?
I don’t see your point.
What I’m trying to say is there was no model, no idea to copy from.
God had to go to His own mind to get the pattern for all of creation.
You mean like elm trees and Dalmatian puppies and the Rocky Mountains?
Check! So that means that everything around us in some way is a reflection of God.
Wow!
I always knew that humans were made in the image and likeness of God.
Yes, the Bible makes that clear.
But now we see that the whole creation is somehow a mirror of God.
Awesome!
So next time you go for a walk, your homework will be to ask yourself, Now how does that maple tree reflect God?
A good meditation.
I agree. Glory be to God.
