Fourth Friday of Lent
Deacon Robert Banet
Well John, l’ve got to be running. I bid you good day.
I’ve never had a bad one.
What! Did I hear you right? You’ve never had a bad day?
That’s right. Whatever happens to me, it’s what God has planned for me.
But John, even the Bible talks about misery. Job says life has many miseries.
Yes, men call them miseries. My happiness consists in my not wanting happiness. In that way every day is a happy day.
That’s amazing. You must have been born under a lucky star.
No luck! Whatever happens to me, it’s in God’s plan. What could be better than to be in God’s will?
Well, I guess you’re right. But where do you get that faith?
I know that God wishes me (and all men) to be saved and I just thank Him and trust Him and rest in His will.
Well, John you’ve given me a lot to think about. I won’t wish you a good day! Goodbye.
Goodbye? Even that is a short form of God be wi’ ye!
Oh John, you put God everywhere!
He couldn’t be in a better place!
